Join Us for the University of Miami Frost Band of the Hour 2026 Band Day!
We are thrilled to invite you and your students to participate in the 2026 Band Day with the Frost Band of the Hour at Hard Rock Stadium during the University of Miami vs. Central Michigan University football game on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
This annual event brings together high school bands from across the region for a high‑energy day of music, collaboration, and Hurricane spirit—culminating in a mass‑band, on‑field halftime performance in front of thousands of fans. Students will rehearse with FBOTH staff and members, experience the excitement of game‑day traditions, and get a behind‑the‑scenes look at collegiate marching band life.
The day will begin with a mass‑band rehearsal at a local school (details forthcoming) before traveling to Hard Rock Stadium for an electric evening of performances and festivities.
Basic Information
- Cost: Participation in Band Day is free. Transportation and food costs are the responsibility of each high school program.
- Student Eligibility: Open to all Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, Conducting, and Color Guard members.
- Dance Teams that do not regularly perform with the band program are not eligible to participate.
- Staff/Chaperone Eligibility: Schools should bring only the number of staff and chaperones required by their district or program guidelines.
- Seating: Due to limited space in the UM student section, high school bands will be seated separately from the Frost Band of the Hour. FBOTH staff will escort all participating bands to the field for the halftime performance. Friends & Family tickets (seated near the HS bands) will be available at a discounted rate.
- Equipment: Band programs are responsible for providing their students with ALL necessary instruments and equipment.
- Attire: Because of the heat, high school bands should plan to wear their casual uniform (shorts and branded polos/T‑shirts with athletic shoes). Students will remain in this attire for the entire event.
Tentative Schedule
- 1:00 PM – Call time at Rehearsal facility (Location TBD)
- 1:30 PM – Rehearsal begins
- 3:30 PM – Rehearsal dismissal
- 3:30 PM – Load buses/trucks and travel to Hard Rock Stadium
- 4:30 PM – Arrival at Hard Rock Stadium, security check, escort to seating
- 5:15 PM – Dinner break (concessions available; cashless payment only)
- 6:15 PM – UM Pre‑Game
- 6:30 PM – Kickoff: UM vs. CMU
- 8:00 PM – Halftime performance
- 8:30 PM – Dismissal following halftime
