Jacob Campos is a Nashville native whose work as a conductor, clarinetist, and music educator has been defined by a commitment to community access and arts advocacy. He has a Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting at Baylor University, where he performed with the Baylor Chamber Ensemble at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic. Before entering graduate study, he served as band director for 12 years, with his longest tenure at Franklin High School in Williamson County, Tennessee, and later joined the Nashville Symphony as Corporate Engagement Manager — work that deepened his belief that orchestras belong to the communities they serve.
Campos is Director of the Nashville Pride Band and an active performing clarinetist. As an educator, every concert and chamber ensemble under his direction has earned Superior ratings across more than a decade of adjudicated performance — a record of distinction unbroken throughout his entire teaching career. His marching programs have advanced to semi-finals at the Bands of America Grand Nationals. He was named one of Yamaha Corporation of America's 40 Under 40 in 2021 and has received the Country Music Association's Music Teacher of Excellence award multiple times. He serves as Hall of Fame Committee Chair for the Tennessee Bandmasters Association and previously held the Tennessee State Band Chair for the Tennessee Music Educators Association. A frequent emcee and speaker at music education events nationally, Campos is driven by the conviction that music transforms communities.
